August 2008

Apologies to you all - I've had a very busy year and I haven't been as efficient and organised as I usually am (!). Rest assured that I will try and keep you all updated. Next session is on Monday 8th September at 8.00 pm at Edmonton. All are welcome. Will catch up on all the news and put it on here.

September 2007

Whoosh! Where did last season go!??? The men have done exceptionally well last season by winning the Herts Cup - well done you guys! And they narrowly missed a double gold when they were just pipped to the winning position in Mens Division 1 by MK City. Nevermind - there's always next year. The ladies team didn't fare as well - third overall in the Ladies Division - but we are determined to change that, aren't we ladies! If you really want to look at the nitty gritty of the scores, take a look at the Hertfordshire Volleyball Association site.

A couple of changes have had to be made this season so existing members take note: Wednesday evening sessions have now been cancelled due to the soaring cost of hall hire. Home matches will now be played at Hertfordshire Sports Village on Sundays. So c'mon everybody, clap your hands, make the most of Monday night sessions.

Website redesign 2007

Hope you like the new design. I'm just trying out some stuff so bear with me if some of the links don't work! Sue.

March 2007

The season is nearly at an end. Look on the match schedule and come on down and support one of the teams at their home matches. Take note that Monday 26th March 2007 is NOT a training session - a match has had to be put there instead!

September 2006 is here again...

Hope you had a good break and are now desperate to play some volleyball! A new committee has been elected and training starts once again at Aspire Sports & Fitness venue. This venue is also our home match venue on Wednesday nights, so now we are training and playing in the same venue. Although we still have issues regarding the holes in the floor for the posts we have, we are hoping to have that resolved before the first home match. Come on down and meet the new committee - as always, if you have something to say, say it to one of them!

Looking forwards...2006

Our AGM will be held at Hatfield Sports Village at 2.00 pm on Saturday 15th July 2006. The meeting will start in one of the conference rooms upstairs, and then at 3.00 pm we move into the hall to play some volleyball. As always, please could you try and make it - we are a small club and we rely heavily on our members to keep everything going. It's also a good opportunity for those that might have a bit of time this coming season to take on one of the committee jobs - like Treasurer! If you can't make it, please let a committee member know. However you will be sent information shortly in the post, just to remind you. As of 10/5/06, sadly our booking at Hatfield has come to an end. There will only be training on Monday nights at the Aspire Sports & Fitness Centre til the end of July.

Ladies and Mens Teams come second in their divisions (2005/2006)!

Well done to both Enfield teams for doing so well! If you want to see the results in greater details, click here. Well done to Seb for coaching the Men, and Mike and James for putting up with the girls. We appreciate it and thank you!

May 2006 news... Herts Cup Finals Result

The men did their best but unfortunately it was not enough to beat those Barnet Boys. Nevermind boys - there's always next year!

March 2006 News.... Men make it to the Herts Cup Finals

The men have done well - we got to hand it to them! They've made it through to the Cup Finals - the opposition has yet to be decided, along with the date. When the date is decided, I'll let you know and I hope you'll support them when they play.

February 2006 News.... New venue

The new venue was christened last night (13/2/06). Thanks to everyone who was involved in moving the posts and cage from the old site to the new. We have some issues with the posts but these will be sorted out shortly. The main benefits are: it is a brand new hall; the leisure managers and assistants are very helpful and supportive; the floor is great for those knees (especially my old ones!). There are two practice courts so members have not lost anything from where we were before.
